Customers encouraged to Respect the GuidelinesRespect Each Other and Respect the Staff to ensure everyone has a great time and is kept safe

3rd July 2020 – This weekend marks the first time many of us will be returning to one of our favourite pubs, bars or restaurants, with some of Ireland’s top venues in the hospitality sector reopening this week.

These venues have put measures in place to ensure everyone is kept safe, such as social distancing requirements and time-limits.

And Reopening with Respect, a new campaign by Drinks Ireland, which represents Irish drinks companies, including many of the nation’s best-loved brands, is encouraging everyone to act respectfully and remember to #BeSound when returning to their favourite spots.

The campaign is asking people to Respect the Guidelines, familiarising themselves with the guidelines set up by each venue they are visiting to get the most from the experience.

They’re also asked to Respect the Staff, who are there to make sure everyone is safe and has a good time, by being patient and cooperative.

Customers play a big part in creating the atmosphere in the bars, pubs and restaurants we love, so are also asked to Respect Each Other

While the new normal may take a little getting used to, everyone will get the most of their experience if they remember to #BeSound.

If you’re returning to a pub, bar or restaurant this weekend, you’re encouraged to share your experience by using the hashtag #BeSound.

Patricia Callan, Director of Drinks Ireland said:

“Our Reopening with Respect campaign highlights how we all have our part to play to ensure our favourite venues remain safe and enjoyable for all. Through simple, friendly, identifiable and welcoming language and visuals we are asking everyone to respect the guidelines, respect the staff and respect each other, and most importantly to #BeSound.”

Padraig Cribben, Chief Executive of the VFI said:

“We welcome the new Reopening with Respect campaign from Drinks Ireland, which can be used and adapted by companies in the hospitality sector to get the message out there. We believe it’s an important campaign on top of work being done by the hospitality sector and at an individual pub level.”

Donall O'Keeffe, CEO of the LVA said:

“By following the clear guidance of Respect the GuidelinesRespect the Staff and Respect Each Other, we can certainly make the re-opening of these venues smoother for everyone, while ensuring customers still get to enjoy the renowned Irish pub experience.”
